His features are rugged and handsome. He's quick to smile, causing his dark green eyes to sparkle, but he's not silly or frivolous...when it's time to be serious, you can see it in his stern expression. He sometimes wears stubble, but often remains clean shaven. He prefers to wear his golden brown hair, which is sun-streaked with blond, long and blowing free, usually to the shoulder. -Personality: Shad is a person who rolls with whatever is happening at the time. He's tough, resourceful, kind and a nurturing kind of guy. He can be very personable and your best friend...slow to anger, but if you actually make him mad, he can be a true terror. Shadrach is a somewhat strange mix of 1960s hippy and Old West Lawman, but it somehow works for him.  -Background: Many human men find it very difficult to deal with the whole concept of monogamy. Unfortunately, this condition isn’t restricted to humans; lycan males are very much the same…and so it was with Shadrach’s father, Jonathan Davis. Shadrach’s mother, Delilah, met and fell in love with Jonathan all at the same time. She was a waitress in Whitefish, Montana, located on the western slopes of Montana's northern Rocky Mountains, just outside of Glacier National Park, and he just happened into the diner she worked at one autumn day. He had told the woman that he worked for a trucking company in the nearby town of Kalispell and she had no reason to disbelieve him. They immediately fell in love and, when Jonathan was in town, he would stay with her in her small apartment over the town’s ice cream shoppe. At first scent, they recognized each other for werewolves and felt blessed to have found one another. The following July, Jonathan arrived in town, after an absence of 3 ½ months, to see Delilah give birth to quadruplets…3 were stillborn, but the fourth was a strong and feisty baby boy. They named him ‘Shadrach’, an ancient Babylonian name meaning ‘command of Aku’…Aku being the ancient Babylonian moon god. Shad, as he was nicknamed, had a pleasant life in Whitefish with his mom and adored when his father came to visit. The three of them would often go into Glacier National Park and shift into wolf form for an evening of wild, free abandon. As the boy grew, he looked more and more like his father, a handsome man. Shadrach thought that he must have the world’s most perfect family. On his 12th birthday, his father proclaimed him to be a man and took him on a camping expedition into a forest that he wasn’t quite familiar with. He was told to wait inside of a small cave until Jonathan returned. When the man returned, Shadrach’s whole life made a dramatic turn. There was a boy with his father, about his age, and the boy, though a bit larger and thicker looked like him!  Jonathan Davis sat the boys down by a small bonfire and talked of what it was to be a man…the responsibilities…the trials…and the desires. It was at that point that he introduced them… “Skyler here is 13 years old and already sniffing around to become the alpha wolf!”, he stated proudly to Shad. Looking at Skyler, he informed, “Shadrach is 12 years old and a strong young wolf! He would make any lycan alpha a mighty right arm!”. Both boys looked at each other and nodded, both a bit confused about what the man was really saying. Jonathan squeezed both boy’s shoulders and explained, “Many times a man has urges and desires. One woman can’t possibly handle them all…especially if that woman is pregnant. A man is doing a kindness when his mate is heavy with child if he finds another to share his love”. His eyes looked over both boys and then he continued, “When Skyler’s mother was full to bursting, I met your mother, Shadrach…and when Shad’s mother carried him, I had your mother back in full form, Skyler…ahem…the two of you are brothers! Can’t you see it in our three faces?!”. It was then that Skyler shifted to werewolf form and dived across the fire with a terrifying growl; he tore into Shadrach who had shifted forms just in the nick of time. The younger boy fought well, but Skyler was a demon and the match soon became uneven. Suddenly the two were ripped away from each other by their father…he was a huge black werewolf, terrifying in aspect. He held both boys suspended in the air until they shifted back to their human forms. Once Jonathan shifted back to mortal form, he warned them both that what had been divulged there that night was never to be spoken to a another soul…it was between the Davis men and he would kill whoever broke that pact. Shad would never have told his mother anyway, he felt it would break her heart.  It was when he was in his 16th year that two wolves were hauled into town in the back of a pickup truck. The farmers that had killed them were in a hurry to celebrate and went to the closest saloon to do so. Shad had a sick feeling when he saw the wolves, especially the large black one. Leaning into the back of the pickup, he inhaled once and then threw up until his stomach heaved dryly. His father was dead…he couldn’t leave him there! He ran to get his mother. After a hurried and heartbreaking conversation, Delilah, tears streaming down her face, decided they would steal the truck. When they arrived back at the truck, Skyler was there. He had two girls with him and a little boy; thefour of them squeezed into the truck cab and headed off for the woods. Shad and his mom took their truck and followed them as best as they could. Skyler and his companions buried the pair of wolves on a majestic cliff in Glacier National Park and said prayers over them. Shadrach and his mother waited upwind and hidden in a thicket for over an hour until the four finally left...it was now their time to pay respects to the man who was lover, companion and father. “Baby”, Delilah pleaded, “Could you give momma a moment alone?”, she dried her cheeks and kissed his nose, “Please, baby?”. Shadrach took a little walk to clear his mind and he wasn’t gone long when he heard the truck engine start…”NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!”, he screamed in horror as he rushed back through the trees…but it was too late…he arrived in time to see the back of his mother’s head in the rear window of the pickup truck as it went over the cliff; The explosion, when the vehicle hit bottom, was so loud that it drowned out his anguished screams. His story was that his mother went crazy with grief over his father's death and drove their pickup over a cliff…partially true. The townsfolk pitied the poor boy and he was allowed to take over his mother’s job and keep the small apartment they lived in…as time passed, he even became a deputy in the small town. When people started remarking on how unusually young his appearance remained, he decided it was time to leave town and make a living elsewhere…until his ‘eternal youth’ was once again noticed. After his father’s death and in later years, Shad tried to find Skyler, but to no avail; he figured that his brother had moved on, just as he had.  From town to town he moved, taking all sorts of jobs…even law enforcement again. When the meteors fell, Shadrach was a deputy in the town of American Falls, Idaho. When it was all over, the town had been destroyed. American Falls Dam had crumbled and Snake River had completely submerged American Falls, Idaho. Again he wandered, no longer hiding his lycan nature. He joined small groups of humans or lycans, whichever was convenient at the time until he came upon Reno, Nevada…a town that was up and running. In Reno, Shad became a casino manager and enjoyed his job thoroughly, mixing with the lycans, humans and Dilectu. It was in the casino that he’d heard about Las Vegas from some lycans who had just arrived in town. They spoke of a lycan ‘Chancellor’ named Skyler Davis…and the Vampire Overlords that he had to serve under. That very night, Shad packed up his few belongings and left Reno…he prayed that Skyler would finally accept him as his brother…he had to find out! Now: Shadrach’s appearance in Vegas had upset the balance of Skyler’s planned out and ordered little world. The Lycan Chancellor begrudgingly welcomed him, because the other Davis siblings were so happy to have found their long lost brother. Shad’s relationships with Cerah and Zack couldn’t have been better, yet things between himself and Skyler were cold and cordial at best. Months passed, with tension building between the two, until Skyler requested a meeting with Shad and walked him out into the desert. If they were going to air their dirty laundry, Skyler wanted to make sure no one would eavesdrop. Their words went quickly to sharp barbs, heated and accusatory, until Skyler started to were; Shad knew it would come to this and vowed to give Skyler the fight of his life. Both in wereform, Skyler, black and, Shadrach, white, which distracted Skyler at first, giving Shad the upper hand, initially. The battle between brothers was fierce and unforgiving; Shadrach took the upper hand at first and grew cocky, for he’d never lost a fight in his life…even to Alpha wolves. It wasn’t to last, however, as Skyler asserted himself as the Alpha and pounded Shadrach into submission. The stunned younger Davis could do nothing but return to human form and accept his defeat. He was not ashamed, however, for he was beaten by the best. From that moment, Shad and Skyler’s relationship had changed; Shad accepted Sky as his Alpha and respected him, promising to give him no more grief and act as if he were a part of the pack. Skyler now accepted Shad, respected his strength and was glad to have him as a brother.
